Melissa Rivers’ “A Letter To My Mom”

Melissa Rivers’ eulogy was actually an excerpt from A Letter To My Mom, a book that will later be published. For those who don’t know, Joan Rivers had been staying in a room in Melissa’s L.A residence, more specifically the basement. Joan flew from New York each week to L.A to film Fashion Police. According to the letter, written below, Joan had some concerns with these accommodations.

I received the note that you slipped under my bedroom door last night. I was very excited to read it, thinking that it would contain amazing, loving advice that you wanted to share with me. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and saw that it began with the salutation, “Dear Landlord.” I have reviewed your complaints and address them below:

1. While I appreciate your desire to “upgrade” your accommodations to a larger space, I cannot, in good conscience, move [my 13-year-old son] Cooper into the laundry room. I do agree that it will teach him a life lesson about fluffing and folding, but since I don’t foresee him having a future in dry cleaning, I must say no.

Also, I know you are a true creative genius (and I am in awe of the depth of your instincts), but breaking down a wall without my permission is not an appropriate way to express that creativity. It is not only a boundary violation but a building-code violation as well. Additionally, the repairman can’t get here until next week, so your expansion plan will have to be put on hold.

2. Re: Your fellow “tenant” (your word), Cooper. While I trust you with him, it is not OK for you to undermine my rules. It is not OK that you let him have chips and ice cream for dinner. It is not OK that you let him skip school to go to the movies. And it is really not OK that the movie was Last Tango in Paris.

As for your taking his friends to a “gentlemen’s club,” I accepted your rationale that it was an educational experience for the boys — and you are right, he is the most popular kid in school right now — but I’d prefer he not learn biology from those “gentlemen” and their ladies, Bambi, Trixie and Kitten. And just because I yelled at you, I do not appreciate your claim that I have created a hostile living environment.

3. While I’m glad to see you’re socializing, you must refill the hot tub after your parties. In fact, you need to tone down the parties altogether. Imagine my surprise when I saw the photos you posted on Facebook of your friends frolicking topless in the hot tub.

I think it’s great that you’re entertaining more often, but I can’t keep fielding complaints from the neighbors about your noisy party games like Ring Around the Walker or naked Duck, Duck Caregiver.

I’m more than happy to have you use the house for social gatherings, but you cannot rent it out, advertise as “party central” or hand out T-shirts that say “F— Jimmy Buffett.”

In closing, I hope I have satisfactorily answered your complaints and queries. I love having you live with me, and I am grateful for every minute Cooper and I have with you. You are an inspiration. You are also 30 days late with the rent.

Much love,

Ray Rice Speaks Out

Elevators got people feeling violent. First Solange Knowles, now Ray Rice.

A video was released showing Ray Rice punching his then-fiance Janay Palmer, knocking her unconscious. After the incident, you’d think Palmer would call off the engagement, however, she’s standing by her man. The two are now married and working through this together.

Ray Rice has been cut from the Baltimore Ravens and suspended from the NFL. He’s finally released a statement on the matter:

“I have to be strong with my wife. She is so strong. We are in good spirits. We have a lot of people praying for us and we’ll continue to support each other. I have to be there for (Janay) and my family right now and work through this.”

Best of luck to Ray Rice and Janay Palmer.

Justice is Served

After seeing a horrifying video of bullies challenging an autistic teen to do an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, only to dump a bucket of urine, feces and cigarette butts instead of ice. Drew Carey took to Twitter to offer his help in finding the teens responsible for this disgusting prank.

“If the Bay Village PD wants to start a reward fund to find who did this, contact me. I’ll donate $10k,” tweeted Drew Carey.

The following day Jenny McCarthy who’s been an advocate for autism joined in and tweeted, “I’m joining Drew Carey’s 10K Reward to Find Perpetrators Behind Horrible ALS Bucket Prank. Now it’s 20k! ” Donnie Wahlberg joined his bride tweeting, “If this “s—-y” prank was real… Then I’m joining @JennyMcCarthy and @DrewFromTV and offering another $10K to the reward! That makes 30K!”

Justice has been served! Cops were able to find the teens responsible. Officials are still investigating the situation and have not released any identifications at this time.

R.I.P Joan Rivers

“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.

Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers we have received from around the world. They have been heard and appreciated.

My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.”

~Melissa Rivers

We continue to pray for Melissa Rivers, Cooper and the rest of Joan’s family and friends. Joan Rivers was filled with energy and love, she was 81 but you could never tell. She was always laughing and working. She’d constantly be flying from New York to LA to film Fashion Police. Joan Rivers death is just completely shocking to me. I’m just heartbroken.

She was taken to soon. She wasn’t done.

Alyssa Milano Gave Birth to her Baby Girl

Alyssa Milano, Baby

Earlier today, Alyssa Milano gave birth to a baby girl, Elizabella Dylan Bugliari, weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz., and measuring 19.5 inches long. Milano took to Twitter to express her joy and excitement, “My daughter! My daughter! My daughter! Elizabella has made my heart swell and ache with love, thank you for your sweet messages.”

We could not be happier for Alyssa Milano and her growing family. Congratulations to the happy mama!

Keeping Our Fingers Crossed

Joan Rivers was rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan Thursday morning after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a minor procedure. Her daughter, Melissa Rivers, and grandson, Cooper Endicott, flew from LA to NY to be by her side.
Joan was reportedly in a medically induced coma and was also on life support. Now, it’s being reported that Joan is in the process of waking up from the medically induced coma. Sources say she’s been showing small signs of improvement.
As for Melissa, I can only imagine how difficult this is for her as well as Cooper. Sources say she’s been a rock through the whole thing. Like mother, like daughter.

Please continue to pray for Joan, Melissa and Cooper.
May God continue to stay with them and give them the peace they need through this difficult time.

Happy “Labor” Day

“In honor of “Labor” Day…Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier!”

It’s the first of September not April, so this is no prank. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have announced that they are expecting their first child together. We couldn’t be more excited for them.

The couple took to Twitter to make the announcement, their dogs Ace and Penny helped share the good news.

Congratulations Carrie and Mike!
